Without further ado, here is the top 3 in both categories. Congratulations on behalf of the OLFSL Staff!

Racers

Teams

The *Original LFS League is now officially on its 2010 summer break. Sincere thanks go to all racers for the past season. There were some changes to our system, as always, but the essence remains the same. You make this league what it is. We hope to see you back on track when the next season/cup is ready to start!

And finally for those who might wonder, the reason for this OLFSL season being timed as it was, and the fact that the start date of the next OLFSL season is left open for now, are due to personal reasons. There was a big change in my life lately and I’ll be spending less time with my computer and more time with our newborn daughter. Our babygirl was born on the 26th of June 2010 and I think you can imagine it’s been busy lately. We are all OK and happy, ready to start our life together. Good times

Anyway, looking forward to race/host you again – see you, on track!

Appeals Arbiter Decisions, Fastlap Fury Season Events 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

OLFSL Appeals Arbiter decisions have been published regarding the Fastlap Fury season. This post references the new decisions, as well as the previous ones (decisions for Events 4, 3, and 1 have been on the site for a while).

Please all review these decisions (full text of each specific decision is available in the link below), as they affect this season’s results (some remaining adjustments to the final results will be made shortly and then the final results of the season will be published), and constitute precedent for future OLFSL seasons.

Event 6, Pool 4, Race 2: [Mik]Mik (LFS license name Mik_018) was removed from *The Original LFS League and no further participation in OLFSL will be allowed, for life. This extraordinary penalty was warranted based on this racer’s clear intent of causing harm. The words ‘deliberately rams out’ are not normal parlance for the OLFSL Appeals Arbiter, but they reflect what clearly occurred in Pool 4, Race 2, Lap 1 (the casualty, sccc|Rookie41, not even being the intended target of the attempt).

Event 5, Pool 4: sccc|Rookie41 filed a complaint, but withdrew the complaint after explanation by the OLFSL Staff/Host relating to the race in question.

Event 4, Pool 2: Vincent de Sade was given a 30 second time penalty, resulting in a move down to position 18 in the final race results, and was placed under specific supervision going forward. This was a clear-cut case of irresponsible driving on the part of Vincent de Sade who is an experienced OLFSL racer and should know better than to drive in a manner jeopardising the race of J. Christensen, and also breached Rule O-1 on obtaining right of road position in a corner.

Event 3, Pool 1: GTS Ady was given a 30 second time penalty, resulting in a move down to position 23 in the final race results, and was placed under specific supervision going forward. The evidence at hand indicated that GTS Ady did not drive responsibly in the dense traffic circumstances ahead and behind, and that a breach of the OLFSL rule on not hitting other cars and of RaceSIM Rule of Racing CT-5 occurred, given that GTS Ady did not brake prior to running into the rear of [Fluid] indie.

Event 2, all pools: This was the South City Sprint 1 Event (2 races) in the MRTs. Given that the race circumstances were very different from what is usually applicable in OLFSL (2 races with MTRs, MRTs being prone to damage, not having a reverse gear, and no pit being available) and upon careful study of 4 complaints, the OLFSL staff has decided that no Appeals Arbiter decisions will be issued for Event 2. Key considerations to reach this decision include the fact that, after sending a draft Appeals Arbiter decision to a racer whom, prima facie, had breached the rules, this racer invoked lag, and upon verification this proved to be correct. Lag was actually more evidently apparent on the other cases that triggered complaints.

Event 1, Pool 1: The detailed technical analysis, performed by OLFSL staff member Tim, confirmed that this complaint from MR™ G.Casagrande must be classified as an unfortunate race incident, likely attributable to lag, and the complainant [Fluid] indie agreed with the preliminary assessment which preceded the final Appeals Arbiter decision.

Event 1, Pool 4: [A9] Docy was moved down to position 17 in the final race results, and was placed under specific supervision going forward. This was an unequivocal case of infringement of OLFSL rules, i.e. the OLFSL general rule on clean/fair racing, as well CT-4, CT-5 and CT-2, affecting the complainant, HR™ K.Giagias.
Event 6 Results

Hi all,

The results for Event 6 of this short but amazing season are now published. A league without racers equals no fun. So once again, thanks for racing with us!

Results from Event 6 will follow later with Final Results and Standings.

Replays from Aston Grand Prix with big GTR's are on the site now.

Have a good summer/winter break and see you again!

Event6 grids

...are out. This means it is possible that the only server you can qualify on is the temporary one. OLFSL Qual by OLFSL is limited to maximum of 13 racers on server at a time and that means traffic if you all plan to do your lap on deadline evening. Therefore it's highly recommended to complete your lap as soon as possible!. If you fail to qualify because the server is full on Thursday there will be no admissions.

The server is open now, do you lap!

P.s. if someone has a server to offer for your temporary use, please contact me. You can find the address from Contact Us -page.

Event 6 qualifying and beyond

As the 500 servers are down due to maintenance I decided to launch a temporary server to fill in the void. It is significantly slower than the usual one so be gentle with it. Normal servers will be up in time before deadline, no worries.

Temporary server name: OLFSL Qual by OLFSL.

Other matter is the racer that should not be - to clear up the issue I am, as the host, coming forward with an explanation about the case:

----------------------------
The server was not password protected early enough and some racers had "slipped" in before I did protect it. I assumed based on the conversation before the race that those who were on the server had joined because they could not access the site and needed the password for pool1. Therefore I didn't go through the list and kick every non-pool4 racer; I assumed they would leave before the race. And most of them indeed did.

It was completely my mistake, I don't believe no one leaked the password. Also, I didn't notice AA™|Milkyway SHIFT+P pitting & joining because I was working overtime to launch a temporary site to provide password for those who could not access www.lfs-league.com.

Not my finest hour, sorry :(
----------------------------

That's all, the appeal posted related to subject above will still be handled normally.

Fern Bay Gold results

Results are on the site - possible changes will be applied later when appeal(s) have been processed, if needed.

For those who wonder why Stats show mandatory pitstops incompleted; Our standing results manager wasn't available to compile the statistics and yours truly didn't find a way to make it work. Everyone did the pitstop - some even more than once.

Event 5 - The Grid

Starting grids for our event on Sunday are now on site. Four pools this time with 23-24 racers in each, should be enough to crowd the track.

I'd also like to remind you that this is a event with mandatory pitstop, definition is in OLFSL rules.

Keep an eye on the site for possible test/practice races - a race with crowded server is best practice for the event on Sunday. See you, on track!

Login to the site and the OLFSL Live Stream details will appear above the chatterbox on the right > > >

Event 4 results

The results from the Kyoto event have arrived, pending the possible penalties. There was only 1 appeal, but some cutting was seen during the races; this will be reviewed and actions taken if needed.

Qualifying for next event is open and deadline is closing in... see you, on track!
