Oval Race Event 11: An Appeals Arbiter decision has been published relating to Pool 1: HR™ G.Alamaras is given a 30 second time penalty for rejoining the track inappropriately, causing a crash and causing Salvor to retire from the race. Kamo is also instructed to drive with more caution. An appeal was also filed (by Logan5) relating to Pool 3 for Event 11, but this appeal was withdrawn by the complainant after the OLFSL staff provided an explanation of the rules. Event 10: A complex Appeals Arbiter decision (3 separate cases) relating to Pool 1 has now been uploaded. SpeedCore.Luísíí and SpeedCore.PSantos are each given a 30 second time penalty and a First Warning. The cases include overly aggressive driving including repeated bumping, and unfairly blocking a faster car attempting to pass, by making repeated left and right moves. Please all study these decisions, and please drive with the caution we expect to keep OLFSL a fair play and fun league for all participants. Event 7: This was the Oval Race in the FO8. Given that the race circumstances were very different from what is usually applicable in OLFSL (including systematic drafting/teaming and different passing rules/conventions on an Oval), and in the interests of not postponing the final standings too much given that the Event 7 appeals have not fully been processed, the OLFSL staff has decided that no Appeals Arbiter decisions will be issued for Event 7. [Appeals and Penalties Section] [FF] T.Kay | 18.12. 21:43GMT Event 11 Results UPDATED Hi racers, Following on from the 4 racers who were disqualified in Pool 1 of Event 11, the penalty was challenged. As a result of this, the disqualification has been reversed and instead a penalty of dropping the points to the racer in the place behind has been adopted. This was done because it was found that the confusion came from a grey area in the OLFSL Rules. The full decision is long and complicated, so I won't publish it here, however it will be made available if anyone wishes to review it. In summary, the Rules page will be changed to clarify when the lap number is counted for the purpose of the "don't stop on the last lap of the race" rule. OLFSL Whatever the Weather championship title is at stake - looking at the current standings there is one nominee clearly, but the situation can still turn to something else. A track known by every racer with FBM should deliver us some close combat - going to be a hot night in Blackwood. Hear the call of roaring engines and be there! If you have planned to qualify during the perioid the server is down please use contact form (via User CP) and inform us. You will be granted an additional opportunity to make a lap after qualifying deadline if necessary. We are sorry about the inconvenience, as you might have already guessed. --- UPDATE ------------------- The ADSL connection of the server running our Qualifying application has been cut down accidentally. Building where our server is located is under pipe repair work and the plumber(s) have managed to physically cut the wire today. It will likely be fixed tomorrow, unless there has been a total catastrophy. Therefore the quali deadline has been pushed one day forward to Friday the 18th at 18:00GMT. The reason for them taking a while was the realisation that some drivers had pitted on the last lap (lap 29). This was made possible due to the position of the start/finish line on the reversed track. Those players who stopped on lap 29 have been disqualified for breaching the rule.
